Human Rights International Film Festival from today

The 12th edition of the Nepal International Human Rights Film Festival, themed ‘Social Justice,’ starts today in Kathmandu and will run until December 12.
Pandav Khatri, the chairman of the Nepal International Human Rights Film Center, announced that the festival will take place at the Film Development Board and Tourism Board halls on Exhibition Road. He stated, “The festival has been continuously organised for the past 15 years to advocate for the protection of human rights.”
The festival will be inaugurated by Top Bahadur Magar, chairman of the National Human Rights Commission. It will feature films that have won awards at world-renowned film festivals such as Cannes and Berlin. Over four days, 53 films from 23 countries, including Nepal, will be screened.
The festival's opening film, ‘The Man Who Couldn't Remain Silent’, will be screened today at 12:30 pm at the Film Development Board hall. This short film previously won an award in Cannes's short film category. Additionally, ‘All We Imagine As Light’, an award-winning feature film from Cannes, will be shown at 5:30 pm on December 10 at the same venue.
Documentary mentor and editor Nilotpal Majumdar will give a masterclass on ‘Co-Production, Landscape: Local Stories for Global Audience’. Filmmakers from Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, and other countries will participate in this workshop.
The festival will also feature various panel discussions and photo exhibitions.
