The ‘India Art Fair 2025’ is scheduled from February 6 to 9.Post Report
Unnati Cultural Village, an initiative by the Chaudhary Foundation, will participate in the India Art Fair (IAF) 2025 from February 6 to 9 at NSIC Exhibition Complex, New Delhi. This marks their second consecutive participation.
This year, the works of six Nepali contemporary artists who specialise in diverse mediums, including unique prints, ceramics, installations, sculptures, and junk art, will be showcased.
The six artists are Bijaya Maharjan, Meena Kayastha, Subodh Bhandari, Sambriddhi R Shakya, Sushila Singh and Uma Shankar Shah.
Maharjan’s work conveys the divine energy, strength, warmth and compassion that AJIMA embodies. Kayastha’s work blends the symbolism of divinity with sustainable practices. Bhandari and Shakya are emerging artists collaborating to create art installations inspired by Nepali historical monuments.
In Singh’s work, clay is the fundamental element. Lastly, Shah’s print series, ‘Ramayan’, is a visual retelling of the epic Ramayana, deeply rooted in the artist’s hometown of Janakpur.
The exhibition’s central theme is ‘Genesis of Divine’, and they will present approximately twenty-one works.
The ‘Genesis of Divine’ is a detailed study of how divinity is conceptualised, expressed, and experienced via diverse artistic mediums. The stories ingrained in traditional and cultural contexts are explored, investigated, and reflected upon by these Nepali artists.
