Nawalparasi East
A landslide triggered by heavy rainfall blocked a section of the Kaligandaki Corridor in Baudikali, Nawalparasi East, on Tuesday morning.
The landslide occurred in ward 3 of Baudikali Rural Municipality, blocking the traffic both ways, police said.
The road closure has halted traffic between the district’s hilly areas and the district headquarters, Kawasoti. Passengers travelling to and from Rampur in Palpa have also been stranded.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Bed Bahadur Paudel of the District Police Office, Nawalparasi East, the continuous rainfall has made it difficult to clear the landslide immediately.
