Brajeshwori Industries set to export baby diapers to third countries

Preparations have started for exporting baby diapers to third countries, two years after it was established.
Brajeshwori Industries in Bhairahawa said it has started preparations to export baby diapers to the African continent, Dubai, Bangladesh and some European countries. It is currently exporting baby diapers to India.
The company started its operation in Ramgram, Nawalparasi two years ago.
The industry has been exporting diapers to India for the last seven months. It is exporting 40 percent of its total production to India.
SP Dhakal, president of Brajeshwori Industries, said they are excited to expand their foothold.
“We plan to export baby diapers to Ghana in Africa, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Dubai, in the next few days," Dhakal said.
Dhakal said in the last seven months, baby diapers worth Rs150 million have been exported to different Indian cities including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Maharashtra and other North Eastern regions of India.
He said since the industry has focused on quality products, they would compete with multinational companies.
"We have given priority to quality products. As a result, our product is in demand in a short span of time,” said Dhakal. "We are using quality raw materials to produce baby diapers.”
Currently, the company is producing warm and tender touch diapers for babies. It has also added baby wipes for babies and adult diapers for elderly people.
The company launched two new products brand-Baby Wipes and Adult Diapers among its 100 dealers in Bhairahawa last Friday.
It has been importing and distributing various products from multinational companies since 2005, having started producing diapers with an investment of Rs1 billion.
The company employs more than 100 people directly. There are four diaper manufacturing companies, currently in Nepal.
Sanimraj Dhakal, the director of the company, said that they had reached the final stages of obtaining the quality certificate required to export goods to European countries. “We have the capacity to supply 50 percent of the domestic demand,” he said.
According to the Department of Customs, Nepal imported 115.39 million pieces of diapers worth Rs1.92 billion in the last fiscal year. The diapers were mainly imported from India and China.
The country exported 32.33 million diapers worth Rs218.20 million to India in the fiscal year 2022-2023.
