Two people have lost their lives in separate incidents in Butwal and Gulmi.
A 23-year-old man died and two others got injured when a motorcycle heading from east to west collided with a scooter heading west from north at Belbas Chowk, Butwal at 4:55 am on Monday.
According to Bijaya Raj Pandit, the deceased has been identified as Ankit Pathak, an inhabitant of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-13.
Ankit, seriously injured in the accident succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Lumbini Province Hospital, Butwal at 5:25 am, the police said.
Pathak’s 42-year-old mother Gaumukhi Pathak and 18-year-old rider Sagar Tharu of Banganga-4 of Kapilvastu are also undergoing treatment.
Meanwhile, a 31-year-old man died while torching wasps in Gulmi.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shankar Pokharel, Ramesh Lamichhane Magar of Musikot municipality-5, Apachaur, succumbed to his injury on the way to Palpa for treatment the same night.
Lamichhane was seriously injured when the fire used to light the hornet hive fell upon him on Sunday.
“He died of the fire that fell off the Pipal tree near the coffee development centre’s garden. The hornets had built their nest, in the tree” the police said.
