NOC hikes diesel, kerosene prices

The Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has increased the prices of diesel and kerosene by Rs3 per litre, effective from midnight Friday.
As per the revised rates, consumers in Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal will have to pay Rs153 per litre for diesel and kerosene. In Surkhet and Dang, the price is set at Rs152, while in Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj, it will cost Rs150.50 per litre.
The NOC clarified that the adjustment was made following a new tariff received from its sole supplier, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), which increased the cost by Rs2.54 per litre for diesel.
The corporation classifies depots into three categories, with the first including Charaali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj; the second, Surkhet and Dang; and the third, Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal.
