One man died and three more got injured when a mini-truck, on its way to Sukute from Karkitar in Chautara-Sangachokgadhi Municipality, met with an accident on Friday evening, the police said.

According to the District Police Office, the deceased has been identified as 40-year-old Yam Bahadur Majhi from Chautara Sangachokgadhi-10. The driver of the minitruck, 49-year-old Resham Bahadur Khadka, along with passengers Bhakta Bahadur Majhi (32) and Kamal Karki (45), all from the same area, sustained severe injuries.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Umashankar Yadav reported that Yam Bahadur Majhi succumbed to his injuries while being transported to the district hospital in Chautara. “He passed away on the way to the hospital, while the three others are receiving treatment for head and back injuries. Their condition is reportedly improving,” DSP Yadav said.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation. The police informed that the injured have been sent to Dhulikhel Hospital in Kavre for further treatment.
