Nepal sends team of army medics with humanitarian assistance to Myanmar
Team comprises doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrative personnel and 6 crew members.

The government of Nepal sent a medical team of the Nepal Army for humanitarian assistance and support to Myanmar in the aftermath of the massive earthquake that struck central Myanmar on March 28.
The aircraft of Nepal Army, with the call sign NA-062-CASA, carrying a team of doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrative personnel and six crew members, reached Nay Pyi Taw International Airport on Wednesday, according to the Embassy of Nepal, Yangon, Myanmar.
Ambassador of Nepal to Myanmar Harishchandra Ghimire and Myanmar diplomat U Wai Lwin received the team led by Lieutenant Colonel Ram Chandra Shrestha at the Nya Pi Taw airport.
The government of Nepal has mobilised the medical team of the Nepal Army equipped with essential supplies and medical provisions to be deployed at hospitals in affected areas for rapid response, medical assistance, and early treatment to the victims, the embassy said.
“The initiative by the Government of Nepal embodies long standing friendship between Nepal and Myanmar,” it said. “The government and people of Nepal stand in solidarity with the friendly government and people of Myanmar during this critical time of need.”
Earlier, on March 28, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli conveyed heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the Chairman of State Administration Council and Prime Minister of Myanmar and expressed readiness to extend all possible support in solidarity with the people of Myanmar.
