Foreign Minister Deuba orders officials to better manage Tatopani trade route
She pledges to initiate necessary steps to enhance the trade route’s efficiency.

Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba has instructed authorities to further streamline and manage the Tatopani border crossing in Sindhupalchok, a major trade route with China earning over Rs20 billion in annual revenue for the state coffers.
During her visit to the customs office and border facilities on Friday, Deuba pledged to take initiatives to enhance the trade route’s functionality and efficiency, according to a press note issued by the minister's secretariat.
She also underscored Tatopani’s role in promoting tourism, citing its accessibility to Manasarovar in China as a major advantage.
The minister noted that the government would take proactive measures to upgrade connected infrastructure, including the Kathmandu-Kodari highway and other roads linked to the Tatopani border.
During her visit Deuba also held consultations with elected representatives including lawmakers from the district and other stakeholders.
