At least 11 persons were injured following chaos at a concert in Dhankuta Municipality-5 of Dhankuta district on Saturday evening.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:30pm during a concert by singer Pramod Kharel as people had gathered at the venue beyond capacity.

The venue had an audience of more than twice its capacity of 3,000 people.

A total of four persons who were seriously injured in the incident were rushed to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.

A large number of concertgoers had gathered outside the venue although both entrances were closed. The sudden opening of the entrances led to frantic chaos, police said.

The concert was postponed after the incident, Acting Chief District Officer Mamta Adhikari said.
