At least three people died and 52 others were injured when a jampacked bus carrying wedding attendants met with an accident at Tripurasundari Rural Municipality-5 of Sindhupalchok district on Friday morning.

According to the Sindhupalchok District Police Office, the bus heading to Piskar of Sindhupalchok from Bhimeshwar Municipality-1 of Dolakha veered off the road and fell some 100 metres down.

The deceased are Man Bahadur Thami and Shiva Shrestha of Bhimeshwar Municipality-1. The identity of one person is yet to be known, Mayor of Bhimeshwar Municipality Ishwar Narayan Manandhar told the Post from the crash site.

According to Deputy Superintendent Niranjan Bhattarai, the injured are being taken to Sindhu Sadabahar Hospital in Khadichaur Bazar for treatment.
