Two die in bus accident in Dang

Two people were killed in a road accident in Dang on Monday. Two others have been injured.
Thirty-six-year-old Bhimnath Yogi and Yuvraj Chaudhary, 52, died on the spot after a passenger bus, travelling to Kathmandu from Bardiya, met with an accident in the Deukhuri section of the East-West Highway, the Amiliya area police office said.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Janak Bahadur Malla, 32-year-old Khushi Ram Chaudhary and Deepak BK, 40, have sustained injuries. They are receiving treatment at Nepalgunj Nursing Home.
The accident occurred after the vehicle, with 47 people on board, lost control and crashed into a wall, police said.
Further investigation into the matter is underway.
Previously on January 13, 12 people died and 24 others were injured after a passenger bus plunged into the Rapti river in Dang district.
The vehicle, heading to Kathmandu from Nepalgunj, had veered off the Rapti bridge in Bhalubang and plunged into the river along the East-West Highway at around 10:30pm.
