Tila Kumari Bishwakarma, widely known as ‘Aunty’ among drug users in Tulsipur, has been arrested on the charge of her long-running role as a key supplier of illegal drugs.
Police apprehended the 53-year-old Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City–8 resident in an operation dubbed “Operation Aunty.”
Bishwakarma, who previously worked at a local medical store, began allegedly supplying drugs after gaining insight into commonly abused substances. She is accused of peddling drugs under the guise of a street vendor, reportedly amassing property from her trade, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Thakuri of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur.
Police recovered 350 tramadol tablets from 35 strips in her possession and seized an additional 2,340 tablets in her home. Bishwakarma reportedly obtained her supplies from the Nepal-India border region in Rupaidiha, said Police Inspector Prakash Thapa.
