Two employees of Casino Elegant, located at the premises of the Asian Hotel in Bhairahawa, were attacked by an unidentified group on Monday night.

According to the District Police Office, Rupandehi, the victims are General Manager Samir Sharma and Cash Manager Baikuntha Neupane. Both sustained injuries to their hands and legs during the assault.

The attack occurred around 10pm after the two had finished their duty and were heading to their quarters for a meal. Deputy Superintendent of Police Nabin Paudel of the District Police Office said the assailants, numbering four or five, attacked the victims.

“The injuries suggest that sharp weapons may have been used,” Paudel said. The motive behind the attack remains unclear.

Both victims are receiving treatment at Universal Teaching Hospital in Bhairahawa, and their condition is reported to be stable. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
