Nepal and Spain forge new collaboration in ICT and Hydrogen Technology

The Nepali Embassy in Spain hosted the “ICT Consulting and Hydrogen Technology: A Catalyst for Collaboration Between Nepal and Spain” programme on Wednesday.
The event, which took place at the Hotel Intercontinental in Madrid, saw the participation of over 50 leading green energy, hydrogen production and technology companies.
The event underscored Nepal’s emerging role as a dynamic tech hub and a leader in cost-effective hydrogen production, leveraging its abundant renewable energy resources, the embassy said.
Nepali envoy to Spain Sarmila Parajuli Dhakal highlighted the shared vision for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth and emphasised Nepal’s commitment to education and skill development, creating a workforce ready to meet global demands.
Dhakal further noted the European Union’s current tech talent shortage and assured that Nepal is well-positioned to provide the necessary support, offering a pool of talented, adaptable, and technically proficient professionals.
The keynote speakers highlighted the significant contributions of Nepali tech talent and innovations across various sectors, including fintech and biotech.
“The event also showcased Nepal’s ideal conditions for establishing green energy-powered data centers, emphasizing the country’s strategic location, stability, and favorable business environment,” the Madrid-based embassy said in a statement.
