Police secure spot in Madan Bhandari Indo-Nepal Volleyball final

Nepal Police Club advanced to the finals of the ongoing Madan Bhandari Gold Cup Indo-Nepal Running Shield Men’s Volleyball Tournament in Butwal. In the first semi-final held on Tuesday at Ramnagar of Butwal Sub-Metropolitan City-10, the Police defeated Gujarat State Volleyball Team of India 3–1 in sets.
The match started with the Police losing the first set 25–27. However, they regained their rhythm in the second set, which Gujarat lost 14–25 due to a series of unforced errors, including four consecutive service outs and a failure to clear a net serve.
In the third set, Nepal Police continued their momentum, securing a 25–21 victory. The fourth set was fiercely competitive, with both teams tied for most of the game. Ultimately, the departmental team of police edged out Gujarat 27–25 to secure their place in the final.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final match between Tribhuvan Army Club and Manimukunda Volleyball Club, scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed due to extreme cold. The match is now set for Wednesday, followed by the final on the same day.
The tournament features eight teams from Nepal and India. The champion will receive Rs750,000, the runner-up Rs350,000, the third-place team Rs175,000, and the fourth-place team Rs100,000.
