A landslide at Jhyaple Khola in Dhading, has caused severe disruption to traffic heading towards Kathmandu. Around half a dozen vehicles were caught in the landslide, leading to the blockage of the key entry point into the valley.
Rescue operations are underway, and some passengers have been rerouted through a tunnel to reach Kathmandu, while others have been sent back to Naubise due to the deteriorating road conditions.
“We are unsure of the exact number of buried vehicles, but so far, one has been found. Over 3,000 passengers have been safely sent to Kathmandu via the tunnel, while around 500 have been directed back to Naubise for their safety,” Inspector Sitaram Singh said.
