Nepal to face Sri Lanka in U-19 Asia Cup semifinal

The U-19 ACC Women’s Asia Cup match between Nepal and India at the Bayuemas Cricket Oval in Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday was abandoned due to rain. With both teams sharing a point each, India topped Group ‘A’ based on net run rate while Nepal finished as runners-up, ensuring both teams advanced to the Super Four stage.
Nepal will now face Sri Lanka on Thursday and Bangladesh on Friday in their Super Four fixtures.
Earlier, Nepal, invited to bat first after losing the toss, posted 94 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Puja Mahato top-scored with 25 runs off 40 balls, including three boundaries. Alisha Kumari Yadav remained unbeaten with 20 runs. Other contributions came from Sana Praveen (9), Sony Pakhrin (8), and Jyotsnika Marasini (6).
For India, Parunika Sisodia shone with the ball, claiming four wickets, while Anandita Kishore and Mithila Vinod chipped in with one wicket each.
Chasing a target of 95 runs, India reached 28 runs without loss in 3.1 overs before rain interrupted the play, forcing the match to be called off.
Nepal had earlier defeated Pakistan by six wickets in their opening match on Monday to secure their place in the next stage.
