‘Introduction to Textile Chemistry’ is a comprehensive resource for students of textiles and fashion technology.Post Report
Namuna College of Fashion Technology (NCFT) hosted a book launch on Sunday to introduce a groundbreaking book, ‘Introduction to Textile Chemistry,’ authored by Rajendra Singh, department head of textile, garment technology, and merchandising at the college.
The book will serve as a comprehensive resource for students studying textiles and fashion technology and working in various industries, such as carpet, pashmina, wool felt, cotton, nettle fibres (allo), hemp dyeing, and more. It delves into the intricacies of textile chemistry, providing a deep understanding of the complex processes and methodologies involved in the field.
Previously, books on fashion and textiles were largely based on the international fashion scene, like France and Italy. This has limited students from learning about local textiles and fashion.
Salahuddin Noman Chowdhury, ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, served as the chief guest. Chowdhury and Gyani Shova Tuladhar, the principal of NCFT, jointly inaugurated the book. Moreover, business persons, industrialists, exporters, members of NCFT’s advisory board, faculty, staff, and college students also attended the event.
