ANFA halts ticket sale for SAFF Women’s Championship final
Ticketing halted after excess turnout raises safety concerns.Post Report
The All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) has halted the sale of tickets for the final match of the ongoing SAFF Women’s Championship.
The sale of tickets for the final between Nepal and Bangladesh, scheduled for Wednesday at Dashrath Stadium in Tripureshwar, is suspended until further notice, ANFA said in a press statement on Monday.
Following the second semifinal match on Sunday, which witnessed a turnout exceeding the stadium’s capacity for the game between Nepal and India, ANFA decided to halt ticket sales to ensure the safety of players and spectators.
The ticketing rights holder, Mount Everest Sports and Events Pvt Ltd, reportedly sold more tickets than the stadium’s capacity, prompting ANFA to take this precautionary measure.
ANFA has urged all spectators to refrain from purchasing tickets by any means and to await further notice before buying tickets for the final match. ANFA also wanted that it will not be responsible for any issues arising from ticket purchases that disregard the notice.
The final match between Nepal and Bangladesh is set to take place at 6:30pm on Wednesday.
