Nepal in ‘tough’ group for AFC Asian Cup Qualifiers

Nepal has been placed in a challenging Group F for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers following the draw held at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. Nepal will compete against Vietnam, Malaysia, and Laos, in what is expected to be a demanding group stage.
Each team in the group will play home-and-away matches, starting on March 25, when Nepal faces Malaysia. Nepal will then play Malaysia again on November 18, Laos on June 10 and March 31 next year, and Vietnam on October 9 and 14.
The qualifiers feature 24 teams divided into six groups, with the group winners securing a place in the AFC Asian Cup 2027 to be held in Saudi Arabia.
Group A comprises Tajikistan, the Philippines, the Maldives, and Timor-Leste, while Group B includes Lebanon, Yemen, Bhutan, and Brunei. Group C features India, Hong Kong, and Bangladesh. Group D has Thailand, Turkmenistan, Chinese Taipei, and Sri Lanka, and Group E comprises Syria, Afghanistan, Myanmar, and Pakistan.
