A woman in Gorkha was injured following an earthquake that jolted central Nepal on Sunday morning.
A 30-year-old woman from Gorkha Municipality-3 was injured when she jumped from the roof of a two-storey house after an earthquake occurred while she was washing dishes.
Police Inspector Shekhar Khadka said she has sustained injuries in her back and left leg. The woman was taken to the Old Medical College in Chitwan after a preliminary treatment at Gorkha Hospital.
Police said the woman jumped from the roof fearing the quake.
A 6.1 magnitude earthquake jolted Kathmandu Valley and adjoining districts on Sunday morning.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the earthquake with epicentre in Dhading district was recorded at 7:39 am.
The jolt was also felt in other districts of Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
