Five arrested for allegedly murdering woman in Gokarneshwar

Police have arrested five individuals, including a minor, in connection with the murder of a woman in Gokarneshwar, Kathmandu.
According to Superintendent of Police Apilraj Bohara, spokesperson for Kathmandu Police Range, the arrested include Kailash Khadka of Sarlahi, Suresh Tamang of Makawanpur, Roshan Tamang of Nuwakot, Puja Pariyar of Sindhupalchok, and a minor.
The body of a woman, aged around 30 to 35, was found stuffed inside a sack and submerged in the Bagmati River near Nami College in ward 7 of Gokarneshwar Municipality at 11:50am on Saturday. A police team from the Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, sent the body to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for post-mortem examination.
Preliminary investigations revealed the suspects’ involvement, leading to their arrest from various locations in the Valley. Kathmandu District Court has granted a six-day remand for further investigation, police said.
