Three dead, six injured in separate accidents in Udayapur and Bara

Three people died and six sustained injuries in separate accidents that occurred in Udayapur and Bara districts in the last 24 hours.
One person died and five passengers were injured in a jeep accident in Pal Singh of Katari Municipality-10 in Udayapur on Monday.
The jeep en route to Katari from Rupatar in Tapli Rural Municipality went out of control and fell about 100 meters off the road, said police.
According to Deputy Superintendent Rakesh Poddar, also information officer at District Police Office, Udayapur, six of the nine passengers in the jeep were injured.
Among the injured, a 65-year-old man from Tapli Rural Municipality, succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at Katari Hospital. The other five injured are receiving care at the same hospital and their health condition is normal, said police.
According to the police, the driver, Ishwar Narayan Shrestha, 32, of Tapli Rural Municipality-5, is in the custody of the Area Police Office, Katari.
Similarly, two people died on the spot in a bike accident in Nijgadh Municipality of Bara on Sunday night.
The bike had carried three people. The rider and one pillion died in the accident that occurred on the East-West Highway, while the other pillion sustained serious injuries.
According to Police Inspector Sanjeev Oli of the Area Police Office, Nijgadh, the 26-year-old rider and 27-year-old pillion from Gajra Municipality-3 Simri, Rautahat, died in the accident.
The injured is a 24-year-old man, a resident of the same place, and is currently receiving care at Bharat Medical College, said police.
According to police, the accident occurred after the bike hit a truck parked along the highway.
The truck and its driver are in the custody of the Area Police Office, Nijgadh. Further investigation on the incident is underway, said Oli.
