Nepal Geological Society to host 11th Nepal Geological Congress

The Nepal Geological Society (NGS) is set to organise the 11th Nepal Geological Congress.
President Ramchandra Paudel is scheduled to inaugurate the event on Monday.
The two-day international conference will bring together over 100 research papers from Nepali and foreign geologists, focusing on the geology of the Himalayas.
Geologists from Nepal, India, China, the United States (US), Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Poland, South Korea, Japan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan will participate, said Professor Khum Narayan Paudel, convenor of the event.
“This is an important gathering of geologists, where extensive discussions will take place on geological studies and research in the Himalayas,” he said.
According to NGS President Churna Bahadur Oli, the society has been organising this congress every two years for the past two and half decades, except during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The event will facilitate the exchange of international expertise, discussions on geological research advancements, and deliberations on geological applications and achievements.
