One dead, 10 injured in jeep accident in Bhojpur
A 66-year-old man succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment at a local hospital, police confirmed.Post Report
A jeep accident in Bhojpur on Thursday morning resulted in one fatality and injuries to 10 others, three of whom are in critical condition. The Province 1-02-002 Cha 6923 jeep, en route from Bhojpur to Chakewa in Tyamkemaiyunm Rural Municipality, overturned in Bhojpur Municipality-5, Bokhim, police reported.
Jhamak Bahadur Ghale, 66, a resident of Gauradaha Municipality-7 in Jhapa, succumbed to injuries during treatment, according to district police spokesperson Dipak Shrestha. Three critically injured passengers—Lhakpadiki Sherpa and Ramkumar Rai of Bhojpur, and Ihayarana Subba of Dharan—were airlifted to Kathmandu for further treatment at KMC Hospital.
The other injured passengers are being treated at the Bhojpur District Hospital. They include Devi Kala Ghale, 58; Navin Kumar Rai, 42, and his 31-month-old son Nigel Rai from Ilam; Junuka Rai, 40; Rajkumar Rai, 41; Menuka Ghale, 33, all from Bokhim; and the driver, Sudip Limbu, 40, of Dharan.
Police are investigating the cause of the accident, Inspector Shrestha said.
