Government set on passing ordinances through ‘fast track’

The government has decided to pass the recently issued ordinance through a 'fast track' process. During a meeting held on Tuesday, the Cabinet agreed to expedite the approval of the ordinance in the winter session of Parliament, commencing on January 31, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung said.
Minister Gurung, who is also the government spokesperson, informed journalists in a brief interaction after the Cabinet meeting that the ordinance, issued by the President, has been registered with the Parliamentary Secretariat. He added that the government has decided to formulate regulations to implement the ordinance effectively.
Highlighting the government’s constitutional authority to issue ordinances based on necessity, Minister Gurung explained that the ordinance aims to promote good governance and address economic challenges.
Additionally, the Cabinet resolved to observe Martyrs’ Day with various programmes.
