Three killed in Okhaldhunga jeep crash

Three people were killed when a jeep crashed in Okhaldhunga on Wednesday night.
The vehicle was en route to Kathmandu from Khotang when it met with an accident at ward 7 of Mane Bhanjyang Rural Municipality.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Pratik Bista, the deceased are 56-year-old Mayadevi Gurung of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-3, her 28-year-old son Pujan Gurung, and 45-year-old Tara Gurung of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadhi Municipality-12.
They were taking Mayadevi to Kathmandu for treatment when the accident occurred.
The driver, 22-year-old Anil Pandit of Inaruwa Municipality-2, is on the run. Police said the bodies are being brought to the district for post-mortem.
“Three people died on the spot in an accident while transporting a patient to Kathmandu at night, but the exact time is yet to be confirmed,” said DSP Bista. “Their bodies are being brought to the district for post-mortem.”
