Leaders, stakeholders discuss importance of sports and motorsports in Nepal

The Nepal Automobiles Association (NASA Nepal) hosted an event at Hotel Royal Tulip Kathmandu to welcome newly appointed National Sports Council Vice President Dhruva Acharya and board members.
The event also recognised athletes and officials who represented Nepal in global motorsports.
Minister for Youth and Sports Teju Lal Chaudhary, lawmakers Yogesh Bhattarai and Udaya Shumsher Rana, senior officials, and figures from Nepal’s sports and motorsports sectors attended, according to NASA Nepal.
“This event celebrated Nepal’s increasing presence in international motorsports, particularly highlighting Nepal’s participation in the 2024 World Motorsports Games held in Spain,” NASA Nepal said in a statement.
On the occasion, NASA Nepal Secretary Diprash Shakya donated his rally vehicle to the association, demonstrating his commitment to motorsports development.
FIA World Council member Govinda Bhattarai, National Sports Council Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, and former ministers Bhattarai and Rana spoke on the growing importance of motorsports in Nepal. NASA Nepal President Dasarath Risal also highlighted the sector’s relevance.
