Leaders of the Nepal Students Union (NSU), a wing of the ruling Nepali Congress, vandalised the office of Tribhuvan University Rector Khadga KC on Friday.
KC said the incident occurred while he was away from his office. Several items, including chairs, sofas, and tables, were damaged. He also said that he was unaware of the exact reasons behind the vandalism.
The students organised under the banner of the Tribhuvan University Struggle Committee demanded a reduction in fees for various central departments. The protest was led by NSU-affiliated students, who had previously locked the rector’s office. The students became furious after the university administration intervened and broke the lock.
