A temporary tourist police post has been established in Dipayal Silgadhi Municipality of Doti to ensure the safety of visitors to Khaptad and surrounding tourist areas.
Mayor Banjisingh Khadka (Bijay) said the post was set up to protect both domestic and foreign tourists visiting Khaptad National Park, a major destination in Sudurpaschim Province.
The post operates under the command of Assistant Sub Inspector Ramesh Bhattarai and has a team of seven police personnel.
According to Khadka, the unit aims to prevent tourist abuse, create a sense of security to encourage longer stays, crack down on criminal activities, and provide guiding support to visitors.
The post was set up through the municipality’s initiative with support from the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation.
