Government’s policies and programmes for upcoming fiscal year to be presented on Friday

The government is set to present its policies and programmes for the fiscal year 2025–26 before a joint session of the federal Parliament on Friday, May 2.
President Ramchandra Paudel will unveil the document at 3 pm during a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwar, according to the Federal Parliament Secretariat.
Spokesperson Ekram Giri said final preparations for the event are nearing completion.
Invitations have been extended to all members of Parliament, the Vice President, Chief Justice, heads of constitutional commissions, senior government officials, members of the diplomatic community, and representatives from the private sector.
The Secretariat has also overseen the cleaning and decoration of the meeting hall and its surroundings, and is managing the distribution of entry passes. A security rehearsal for the President’s arrival is scheduled to take place on Friday morning.
Following the joint session, both houses are expected to hold separate meetings to table the President’s address and offer a formal vote of thanks.
Giri added that the possible agenda in both houses includes reading out a letter from the Office of the President regarding the appointment of Khamba Bahadur Garbuja as Minister of State for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation.
