Two children drowned in a pond at Naraha Rural Municipality-3 of Siraha district on Tuesday.
The bodies of two boys, aged seven and eight, were spotted floating in the pond near the settlement at 8:30am.
Police and locals were searching for the boys after they went out of contact on Monday afternoon.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Panchkumar Bakhu of Mirchaiya Area Police, the bodies have been sent to the provincial hospital for post-mortem.
According to the locals, an artificial pond was formed after contractors dug to extract aggregates.
