Parsa police have apprehended a man allegedly involved in illegal hundi transactions, seizing Rs700,000 in undisclosed cash.
Acting on a tip-off, authorities intercepted Ajay Kumar Sah, 43, from Bindabasini Rural Municipality-3, during a security check at Birgunj Metropolitan City-10.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Kishor Lamsal said that Sah was found carrying 700 banknotes of Rs1,000 denomination, concealed in both pockets of his white tracksuit.
Sah, who was previously charged with banking and financial offences by the District Police Office, is known for his alleged involvement in illegal hundi operations.
Police have launched a further investigation into the matter.
