A couple was found dead inside their own home in Latinath of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City on Wednesday.

The bodies of local Keshav Bhandari, 62, and his 56-year-old wife Ambika were recovered from their room.

According to the police, Keshav was found hanging from an iron hook on the ceiling while Ambika had been stabbed in her neck with a sharp weapon.

The incident came to light after a local woman, who had reached the couple’s residence to check on Ambika after she failed to pick up multiple phone calls, found the house locked.

As per the preliminary investigation, police suspect that Keshav murdered his wife and hung himself. It was also found that he had been taking antidepressants for the past four months.

The couple’s son and daughter-in-law, who also live in the same house, were absent when the crime happened.

Blood samples from the incident site have been sent to Kathmandu for forensic tests.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
