83-year-old man ‘shoots himself’ dead in Tulsipur
Police say preliminary investigation suggests suicide.

An 83-year-old man died reportedly after shooting himself in ward 7 of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City on Monday afternoon.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Anil Thakuri, chief of the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, Narayan Acharya shot himself with his licensed 12-bore gun while alone in a room at his house.
Preliminary investigation suggests it was a suicide, and further investigation is ongoing.
Superintendent of Police Arjun Timilsina said Acharya shot himself while his wife was outside the house. She found out only after returning home and then informed the police.
Acharya had sustained a bullet injury to the neck. The reason behind the suicide is yet to be determined, police said.
He was a long-time district chairperson of the Red Cross.
