The body of a man was found in a forest in ward 4 of Mathagadhi Rural Municipality in Palpa district.

According to the District Police Office, Palpa, 49-year-old Reshamraj Sarki of Jhadeva, who had left home five days ago to visit a relative, was discovered dead in a stream in the forest.

Although his relatives had informed the family that he had left for home, he never arrived, prompting a search. During the search, his body was found in the stream, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Sunil Malla, who is also the spokesperson of the District Police Office, Palpa.

Preliminary investigations have been launched by the Mathagadhi Police Post and the District Police Office. Sarki’s body has been taken to Palpa Hospital for a post-mortem.

Police said further investigation into the incident is ongoing.
