Prime Ceramics Pvt Ltd commenced the sale of ceramic tiles under the brand ‘Prime-Tiles with Stile’ for the general public on Thursday.

With the introduction of its products, the company claims to be Nepal’s first and largest producer of all kinds of tiles for both walls and flooring.

Spread over an area of 70,000 sq meters at Brindavan Municipality-6, Rautahat, the company has set up a fully automated manufacturing unit based on Italian technology.

The company says it maintains a high standard of quality and can compete with any renowned global brand.

Nepal has been importing tiles worth more than Rs15 billion per annum. Higher freight charges and excise duty, supplemented by other additional costs incurred during the import, result in costly tiles for Nepalis.

Prime Ceramics hopes to fulfil one-fourth of the current market demand. It has an investment of more than Rs2 billion and employs more than 300 individuals, the company said in a statement.
