Landslide kills four in Kavre

At least four people have died in a landslide triggered by heavy rainfall in various locations of Roshi Rural Municipality, Kavre.
According to Dinesh Lama, chairperson of the rural municipality, 42-year-old Sunamaya Sunar of ward number 1 lost her life when her house was buried by the landslide.
Similarly, an eight-year-old boy, a 12-year-old girl, and an elderly woman, approximately 60 years old, were also killed in ward number 3 when a landslide buried them. In ward number 10, another woman was reported buried after her house collapsed, Lama added. Additionally, in Siran Danda of ward number 4, five members of a single family were buried, with one person rescued so far. Efforts are ongoing to rescue the remaining four.
Lama also reported that 12 concrete houses in Narke Bazaar, located in ward number 9, were swept away by the flood. Residents of the affected areas have been relocated to safer locations. Furthermore, the temporary settlement in Phalamesanghu and a 10-bed hospital in ward number 1 have also been submerged.
