The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nepal, Abdulla Al Shamsi, handed over an invitation from the UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli during his courtesy call at the prime minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday.
UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister Maktoum invited Prime Minister Oli to attend the World Government Summit, scheduled to be held from 11-13 February, 2025 in Dubai.
“This Summit will bring together governments, international organisations, thought leaders, and private sector leaders from around the globe to foster international cooperation and identify innovative solutions for future challenges,” the organisers say. “Ultimately inspiring and empowering the next generation of governments.”
According to the prime minister’s press secretariat, the discussion between Oli and Ambassador Shamsi focused on strengthening the friendly relations between the two nations. “They also deliberated on the effective implementation of past agreements and explored potential collaborations in trade, investment, agriculture, hydropower, tourism, and renewable energy,” the secretariat said.
