One person was killed and two others injured in a road accident in Deukhuri, Dang, on Friday.

The victim has been identified as 45-year-old Phoolbari Chaudhary, a resident of ward 3 in Babai Rural Municipality, according to the Ward Police Office, Lamahi.

A vehicle loaded with chicken travelling from Satbariya towards Lamahi struck Chaudhary at ward 7 of Lamahi Municipality. She was waiting for a bus on the roadside to return home after visiting relatives in Kaptangunj when the incident occurred.

Two other individuals, 62-year-old Phulpatiya Chaudhary and 65-year-old Udesani Chaudhary, both residents of Naya Basti in ward 7 of Lamahi Municipality, sustained injuries.

 The driver, 39-year-old Deblal Chaudhary, a resident of ward 6, has been arrested by the police.
