Star Sports has officially secured the broadcasting rights for the Nepal Premier League (NPL), as announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) on Friday.

Previously, there were informal reports suggesting that CAN was in talks with Star Sports for the league’s live coverage. The agreement has now been formalised, ensuring wide reach and exposure for the inaugural edition of NPL.

The first edition of the franchise-based tournament is scheduled to take place from November 30 to December 21 and will feature eight teams. These teams represent various provinces, with two teams from Bagmati Province and one each from other regions.

The competing teams include Kathmandu Gurkhas, Chitwan Rhinos, Biratnagar Kings, Janakpur Bolts, Pokhara Avengers, Karnali Yaks, and Sudurpashchim Royals. The league will see participation from renowned international cricketers such as Shikhar Dhawan, Rohan Mustafa, Ben Cutting, Michael Levit, Saif Zaib, Brandon McMullen, and Unmukt Chand.
