The Kathmandu Metropolitan City, in collaboration with the Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, has painted murals depicting various sports at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. The murals showcase football, volleyball, cricket, badminton, chess, marbles, and other games.
Previously, the metropolis had painted a mural of women’s footballer Sabitra Bhandari ‘Samba’ at Saraswati Park in Koteshwar as part of its urban beautification campaign. A mural of the late footballer Mani Shah was also painted. Similar murals are planned for Maitighar, Babarmahal, Minbhawan, Baneshwar, and Lainchour.
