The weather will remain partly to generally cloudy across the country on Thursday, with chances of light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some hilly areas and a few other places, the Meteorological Forecasting Division said.

Light rainfall and snowfall are also likely at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

According to the Division, the weather pattern is being influenced by westerly and local winds, along with moisture-laden air from the Bay of Bengal.

Tonight, the skies will remain partly to generally cloudy in the hilly region and mostly clear elsewhere. The Division said there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning at a few locations in the hills, and at one or two places in other parts of the country.

Light rain and snowfall may continue at a few places in the high hills and mountainous areas.
