Chief of Army Staff General Sigdel to leave for India on Dec 11
The Nepal Army chief to receive honorary rank of Indian Army General during four-day visit.Post Report
Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) General Ashok Raj Sigdel will leave for a four-day visit to India on December 11 at the invitation of Indian Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi.
During the visit, General Sigdel will be conferred with the honorary rank of General of the Indian Army, a longstanding tradition between the two countries.
Sources from the Ministry of Defence confirmed the trip to the Post.
Earlier, on November 20, General Dwivedi visited Nepal for five days, during which President Ramchandra Paudel conferred him with the honorary rank of General of the Nepal Army in a ceremony at the President’s Office.
General Dwivedi visited key locations during his stay and met President Paudel, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, and CoAS Sigdel. The Indian Army remains a major military donor to Nepal.
