Shankar Sharma reappointed to India; Netra Prasad Timilsina appointed to Malaysia.Post Report
President Ramchandra Paudel on Wednesday appointed Shankar Prasad Sharma and Netra Prasad Timilsina as Nepali ambassadors to India and Malaysia, respectively.
According to the Office of the President, the appointments were made as per Article 282 (1) of the Constitution on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Sharma, who previously served as Nepal’s envoy to India from March 2022 to July 2024, returns to the position after receiving agrément from India on December 13, more than two and half months after Nepal sent the proposal. His first tenure was cut short in May 2024 following a government decision to recall envoys from 11 nations. However, he was recommended again for the role in August by the current administration.
Timilsina will serve as Nepal’s residential ambassador to Malaysia. Both appointments were endorsed by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee in September.
