The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the country is currently under the influence of local winds and westerly systems.

According to the division, Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces are experiencing partly to generally cloudy weather, while the rest of the country remains mostly clear to partly cloudy. Light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is occurring at one or two places in Koshi and Bagmati provinces.

Weather is expected to remain partly to generally cloudy throughout the country today. Thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain are likely at a few places in the hilly regions of Koshi and other provinces, and at a few places elsewhere.

Heavy rainfall is also likely at one or two places in the hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. Light rain and snowfall are expected at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions.

Tonight, hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces will see partly to generally cloudy skies, while the rest of the country will remain mostly clear to partly cloudy.

There is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning at a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in the hilly areas of Karnali. Light snowfall is also likely at a few places in the high hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali.

The division warned that rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and snowfall may affect agriculture, daily life, health, road transport, and air travel. It has advised people to take necessary precautions.
